Food & Drink
Good food. Great drinks. Warm hospitality.
At The Spotted Dog, we take pride in serving bold, satisfying dishes and a carefully curated selection of drinks in a relaxed, countryside setting. Whether you're here for a long lunch, a pint after a dog walk, or a weekend feast with friends, everything on our menu is crafted with quality, flavour, and seasonality in mind.

Food
At The Spotted Dog, food is more than just a meal — it's a celebration of flavour, tradition, and creativity. Inspired by owner Laurence Bowes' early years in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, our menu brings a taste of the American South to the English countryside.
From Carolina-style barbecue smoked low and slow over hickory, cherry, and oak for up to 14 hours, to comforting classics and fresh seafood — everything we serve is rooted in seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Think tender brisket, juicy pulled pork, and our take on the classic clam bake, all designed to be shared and savoured.
As the seasons change, so does our menu. This summer's line-up will run until the end of the season, with a new winter offering arriving shortly after.
Drink
Behind the bar, we're just as passionate. You'll find local favourites like Larkins Traditional and Harveys Best alongside our own White Wolf 4% lager. We also pour a rotating selection of crisp lagers, refreshing ciders, bold IPAs, and Lucky Saint 0.5% unfiltered lager for those taking it easy.
Our wine list is carefully curated — every bottle tested (and retested) before making it to the menu — with a mix of old and new world wines, most available by the glass. And if you're after something stronger, we've got a well-stocked shelf of the good stuff.
Whether you're here for a Sunday roast, a midweek lunch, or just drinks in the garden with your dog, we've got something to suit every taste.
